Public Bid Opening

The bid opening for 21 trade packages for the Central Plant / Field House project will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in room L238 in Southwestern College's Learning Resource Center / Library.

The total amount for these 21 packages is expected to be between $26 million and $32 million. (A $9.2 million mechanical package was previously awarded.)

Proposition R New Look 2025

On March 14, 2012, the Southwestern Community College District Board unanimously voted to re-evaluate all Proposition R projects to determine the best use of bond funds and reassess its priorities.

This reevaluation will not affect ongoing Proposition R work with the DeVore Stadium Field House, the college-wide central plant, the Higher Education Center at National City and the Elmhurst and Gotham street entryways to the Chula Vista campus.

However, work on all other Proposition R projects, including the Corner Lot development, will cease until April 2013.
